Most of us can never believe the fact that lack of enough sleep is linked to weight gain. It really sounds strange, but many of the recent studies have proved this with strong evidences.
Researchers from Stanford University and the University of Chicago completed two studies that reports that poor or lack of sleep gives rise to changes in hormones which results in increased appetite and ultimately increases body weight.
One of the vast studies conducted on more than 68,000 middle aged U.S. women report that women can easily gain weight over years, if they don’t get enough sleep. Though the study implied some controlling measures like necessary calorie consumption and physical activities on the participants, the results showed a persistent link between lack of sleep and weight gain.

So it’s important that getting quality sleep daily and maintaining proper sleep patterns should be on the top of every one’s to-do list. Be sure to find out immediate solutions, if you have any problems or insomnia related to sleep, or else it add another woe to your existing problem.
