Obese Children Have Shorter Lives

The University of Australia claims that obesity can reduce the life expectancy of a child by two years when he or she is 20 years old. After a careful observation, it was revealed that the lives of boy kids were reduced by 4 years on account of obesity. In addition, it was also confirmed that girls were at a greater risk of living shorter lives on account of obesity.

The research also went onto emphasize that obese people with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 25-30 were going to live 6 months less than the average life expectancy. It was also reported that obese people with a BMI over 30 were to live 3.5 to 4.5 years fewer years and hence shorter lives.
