Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is important for proper functioning of the body. It is obtained naturally from our daily diet. Vitamin B12 is responsible for DNA synthesis, production of red blood cells, and energy regulation.

There have been claims that through vitamin B12, weight loss is possible. Vitamin B12 is available in  the form of supplements and injections as a weight loss solution. There has been no scientific evidence that vitamin B12 leads to weight loss, but users of vitamin B12 claim that it does indeed help in weight loss.

Is Weight Loss Through Vitamin B12 Possible?
Vitamin B12 is known to boost the metabolism of the body. So, with increased metabolism more calories would be burned. Increased calorie burns can in turn help in burning fat and losing weight. Vitamin B12 is known as the “energy vitamin” as it is believed to boost energy. Increase energy levels can keep you active and motivated to exercise.

Weight loss in those who take vitamin B12 might be also due to the reason that those who take vitamins tend to be health conscious. They may exercise and eat healthy, thus having significant weight loss.

We should remember that weight loss only through vitamin B12 is not possible. Adding healthy diet, exercise and vitamin B12 can in speeding up your weight loss. Health experts opine that taking vitamin B12 in our daily diet is better than taking it through supplements or injections. Dietary sources of vitamin B12 include eggs, yogurt, fish such as salmon, lean beef.
