Many people overeat during a party or when eating out; however, these incidents are occasional. In contrast, a person suffering from binge eating disorder overeats 2 or more days every week. The binge eating is characterized by uncontrolled eating, where large amount of food is consumed. The person later deals with feelings of guilt, shame due to the binge eating.
