Obesity Problem In Teenagers

Obesity concerns in teenagers continue to rise. Obesity problems in teenagers are often the result of an unhealthy and sedentary lifestyle. According to a recent survey, nearly 14 percent of American teenagers are considered to be obese. .

Causes Of Obesity In Teenagers:

Lack Of Exercise Along With Unhealthy Eating Habits:

With the hectic lifestyle of today’s teenager, teens often find themselves lacking time to exercise and eat healthy. Teens often grab unhealthy snacks on the run going to various activities, jobs, and social events.

Too Much Time with Electronics:

The other major factor of obesity in teens has been sitting for long hours especially in front of computer video game, play stations etc.

Lack of Proper Sleep:

Sleep is key to preventing obesity. Research shows that a majority of teenagers are not getting enough sleep. When you don’t sleep enough, your body releases hormones that can lead to unwanted weight gain.

Intake of Oily Food:

Regular intake of oily, spicy food always results in obesity.

Steps to Get Rid of Obesity in Teenage:

  • Always receive seven to eight hours of sleep per night.
  • Restrict the amount of caffeine as it increases the secretion of hormone which increases body weight.
  • Do not stress your body too much as stress will not help you in reducing your overweight but will increase your body weight.
  • Eat healthy food comprising of fruits, green vegetables and whole grains. This will give your body energy without increasing your weight.
